Wine Find

I recently came across this great wine under $30. We enjoyed it last weekend with a lovely roast loin of pork with a grainy mustard pan gravy. Nice acidity to cut through the richness of the meat and its sauce. Flavours were dominated by cherry and black plums.
This wine is available at the SAQ (#00573402) Mercurey Michel Juillot 2006. Price$28.30

  1. I enjoyed a glass of the same wine at Bistro Brunoise along a great steak tartare about 2 months ago. I only remember the being impressed by the wine for the nice balance of fruit, tannins & acidity. Given the lean beef and the spicy seasoning, a heavier and richer red would have been a better match.
